About Us
MetaCometa APS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families in difficult situations. Founded with the goal of safeguarding and protecting children through foster care, MetaCometa is committed to providing help and support to families and individuals who wish to share the foster care experience, offering a network of families, training and support.
In addition, the association offers child support services in difficult and distressed situations, providing emotional, psychological and material support to children and families in need.
MetaCometa is also committed to parenting education, offering parents tools and skills to better meet the challenge of raising their children. The association firmly believes that every child has the right to grow up in a family that loves and protects them, and strives daily to realize this goal.
Thanks to the professionalism and commitment of its workers, MetaCometa has become a point of reference for many families and children seeking help and support. The association is open to all who wish to contribute to its mission by offering their experience, expertise and availability to support those in need.
MetaCometa turns 25 years old

One December evening in 1998, Marinella, Francesca, Emilio, Grazia, Nino, Annamaria, Gaetano, Linda and Salvo, with their children Cristina and Vincenzo, came together to define a project that would give meaning to their lives. They decided to establish a community called “Metacometa” whose mission is to welcome, not only to welcome but also to welcome each other.
Formation, listening to God, monthly group meeting, discussion and sharing have always been the foundation of the association.
Metacometa is a family of families who have chosen to make welcoming a way of life, welcoming through family foster care, socio-educational centers and projects such as family training and parenting support. They welcomed 80 families and 80 children into their homes and 120 into family communities. For us, acceptance means acknowledging history and wounds and giving people the chance to take back their lives and redeem them.
Some families experience spaces and times of prayer and formation together, creating deep bonds. Nazareth House and Don Bosco House are examples of this experience.
